How to get more Google reviews (without breaking the rules)

Why reviews matter
97% of consumers read reviews of local businesses, and 71% use Google to do it. Before calling a contractor, your future customers check what others experienced. More recent, credible reviews mean more calls.
The right way to ask
The most important rule, and the simplest: ask all your customers, no exceptions. Google requires it. Filtering customers by satisfaction, or sending the link only to the happy ones, is forbidden — and it shows: a profile full of only 5-star reviews looks suspicious.
Ask at the right moment — right after the job is done, while the experience is still fresh — and give a direct, one-tap link to your Google Business Profile.
What Google forbids
- Offering a discount or gift in exchange for a review.
- Sending the request only to satisfied customers.
- Writing reviews yourself or paying for fake reviews.
A customer flags a problem? That's a good thing: you're notified to fix it quickly, and they still get the review link. A well-answered negative review is often better than no review at all.
Common questions
Can I offer a discount in exchange for a review?
No. Google forbids incentives. We simply ask, at the right time.
What if a customer isn't satisfied?
You're notified to fix the situation. They still get the review link and remain free to write what they want.
Do you write reviews for me?
Never. Your reviews come from real customers. Fake reviews are forbidden by Google.
